Bird is the word

Last week I posted blue herons that I made, to a local Facebook group that I’m part of. A member of the group messaged me to ask about one of the works. Long story short, he and his daughter share a connection through blue herons, so he bought my artwork for her as a gift.

This client later messaged me to show the piece in a wooden frame that he had made for it. It is now being sent to his daughter in Texas. How cool!

Below are the Texas-bound herons.

Another of my herons was purchased this week by a woman who follows me on Instagram. I keep thinking these sales are random, which is cool… but it is equally as cool to think that people who follow my socials want to reach out for some art of their own.

People are actually paying attention! That will help quiet the gremlins in my head that sneak up from time to time. Reminder: people are seeing what I am creating. This is good, people!

Here is her happy heron. Doesn’t he look proud?

Also this week, a woman bought two bird images from me (bluebirds and parrots). Her name sounded familiar, so I put my thinking cap on.

Want to know the fun fact? Her dog follows my dog on Instagram, and both dogs have the same neurological condition, so I’ve messaged with her over the years, about the condition.

Her job specializes in avian diagnostics (wait, what? how cool is THAT?), and she thought that some bird-related art work look great in her office at work. Who am I to argue!

These two will make their way onto the bird-friendly walls of her office soon:

I need to share this quote because it was something that made me super happy this week. I shall respectfully call her “bird lady”. Bird lady said, and I quote:

I love art with a story! What is art without a story? This kind of random friendship across the country, starting with our dogs surviving a disease, building a community on Instagram, growing beyond that… that’s a story that I am happy to be a part of.

This is why I do this. Because how can you find those moments without doing this?

Anyway, enough of my blathering. There are Easter eggs to go hunt and coconut Easter bunny cakes to eat! (not really, but doesn’t that sound delicious?)
